Pricing an Internet eBook or any eBiz product for that matter is a serious consideration. Most take a shortcut in this area and make not only a big mistake, but leave money on the table. Is your eBook worth a dollar or a million
dollars? Any eBiz item has to be tested and I know that sounds like a lot of work, but its really easy.
There are three simple things that you can do to easily see if you are getting a fair price for your eBiz item. After all, you know its worth somewhere between a dollar and a million dollars. If your item is worth more than a million
dollars, please skip ahead to the section marked; For Millionaires Only!
Since you are familiar with the Internet, otherwise you wouldnt have written or created an eBiz item, you probably have an email account with hotmail, gmail, or some other free service.
Because you have an email account, you have email contacts and they are a goldmine of free research waiting to be tapped. Send a dozen or so of your "friends" an email with an attachment showing a picture, graphic, or
drawing of your eBiz item, along with a simple sentence similar to this;
Ive just completed my project and am going to launch this new (eBiz product name here) and I just would like your feedback about the price that I will be charging.
The (eBiz product name here) is an item that I think will "help" (keyword) those who want to (lose, gain, acquire, make more etc.) and Id like to know what you think I should charge for the item. Does the price of ($29.88 put
your price here) seem to high, too low, or just right.
One little favor would be to tell me in a sentence or two why you think the price is too high, too low, or just right.
I really appreciate your opinion on this item.
End with a salutation and thats it.
The trick is, you send each email with a different price so that you get a feel for the price range that seems to agree with your "friendly" audience.
You, of course, add a Ps. to your email with the question; Any ideas on which bonuses would make this a big seller?
This is quick and easy and gets you going in the test mode without any hesitations. Its easy to email a friend and ask for feedback, because thats what friends are for.
Since all the Internet gurus offer their emails and solicit comments, use their expertise as your expert panel.
Pick three big names, send them the same email and ask their opinion of the product, but send them the entire product and ask their opinion as to what you think you should charge, who knows, they may want to promote it
for you, but they may give you just a hint of what it needs to be a super product and create a much bigger return for your efforts, plus these are the pros and they know pricing. It doesnt hurt to ask, but it always hurts when
you dont ask.
If and when you receive positive feedback, follow up with an additional email asking if you can use their positive comment in your marketing campaign.
