Now that were better aware of some of the pitfalls to avoid (read my article "Tele-phony"), lets discuss how to be an effective professional on the phone. People like to be around people, who are appropriately positive, appropriately enthusiastic, and who reflect a belief and confidence in what theyre doing.
There are several ways to sound positive and enthusiastic:
Be positive and engaged in your phone work, but not artificially so.
Make your calls during the time of day when you have the most energy and the best attitude. This will play to your natural cycle of energy.
Smile! Youve probably heard this before and its true. When you smile as you talk, your smile can be "heard".
Get proper nutrition to feed your body, your mind and your attitude. Ever notice how you become impatient when youre hungry? Ever notice how you have trouble staying focused when youre hungry? Ever notice how your attitude dips when youre hungry? Dont neglect this important aspect of phone success.
If youve been on the phone for a while (an hour or more), take a break to refresh yourself and rejuvenate. Your attitude and energy level will rise and your voice will reflect it.
As far as being and sounding professional goes, there are a number of very important techniques to employ:
Its good to develop a script so you remember the important points you want to make, but most of us dont write the way we speak. Get out of the habit of writing properly, and instead, write how you speak. It will make you sound more natural and will keep you from having to read your script.
Practice saying your script so it sounds like a completely natural conversation for you and your style.
Work to have a conversation instead of a presentation. As you get into your conversation, ask questions. Be consultative. Remember, this is about your prospect, not about you.
An excellent way to establish yourself as a professional is to introduce yourself as someone who helps people or businesses solve problems, rather than as someone selling insurance.
Another GREAT technique for setting yourself up as a professional is to be respectful of your prospects time. After introducing yourself, simply ask, "Do you have a few minutes to talk?" If youve been clear with your introduction, theyll know who you are and what you want to talk to them about. Their answer to your question will be very revealing.
Here are a couple of additional pointers:
If you feel like you sound like a telemarketer, you probably do. Change your approach/style.
If you feel that youre "over the top" with enthusiasm, you probably are. Tone things down to a more professional level.
If what you are saying makes you feel uncomfortable, your prospect will undoubtedly feel uncomfortable as well. Change how you say what you want to say so it comes out professionally and naturally. This way, you and your prospect wont become uncomfortable.
If you feel like youre coming across as being pushy, you probably are. Change your approach to reflect your own style of expressing yourself.
If you feel like youre not doing enough phone work, you probably arent. Find a way to say what you need to say in a professional manner and in a way that protects your attitude and energy, and get to work!
In conclusion, by listening to yourself as you use the phone and being sensitive to how you sound to others, you can develop an excellent style of telephone marketing that will set you apart from other marketers, will establish you as a professional, and will boost your rate of success tremendously.

For any corporation around, it is very important to create a distinct image in the market. This is known as Corporate Image which distinguishes the corporation from its competitors and provides a picture of it to the general public. It depicts the principles, beliefs, productivity of the company. This image is responsible for increasing the sales of the product and to achieve brand equity.
Corporate image creation is a very strenuous and time consuming process and is carried out by experts qualifying in perception management. Basically, the creation involves marketing experts who used various kinds of promotion methods and public relations. Foreclosure Scams and how to avoid them
The collapse of the housing market coupled with the meteoric rise in consumer debt has dramatically increased the number of annual foreclosures. Last year there were both record number of home foreclosures and bankruptcies reported across the US. Those who endure the hardship of foreclosure face possible loss of their home and this in turn causes them to seek out assistance.
Those facing foreclosure face tremendous emotional distress much more so than those facing bankruptcy. The extraordinary stress of foreclosure causes ones judgment to become clouded and makes it easy to fall victim to scammers.
It always astonishes me that no matter how bad off an individual might be there is inevitably another individual willing to exploit that persons suffering for their own financial gain. Con artists and scammers have wasted no time in preying upon the extraordinary distress of those facing foreclosure.
Scammers attempting to siphon money from those facing foreclosure primarily rely upon two scams: the equity scam and the fake counseling scams.
An equity scam is where an unsolicited offer is made to those facing foreclosure to find a buyer for their homes and immediately solve their financial problems. The individual making the offer will even offer to take over the debt in exchange for their deed to the house.
Once the house is deeded over to the scammer, the house is then rented out while the foreclosure proceedings remain in progress. Foreclosure proceedings can take many months offering the scammer the potential to earn thousands. Those who deeded over the home ultimately do not discover the scam until their home has been auctioned off. They are then stuck with the original mortgage debt and the loss of their home.
With the fake counseling scam, an unsolicited offer is made for "expert" advice and assistance in exchange for a small fee. The "experts" will then figure out a way to reduce your monthly payments and even reduce the original mortgage debt. What really ends up happening is that the money is turned over to experts who offer advice that could have found freely been on the Internet.
Often times the consulting fees for such a service can cost hundreds and even thousands of dollars. The best a consultant can really do is get you a short grace period, usually of no more than a couple of months. Again, information for the grace period could have easily been retrieved from the internet or by a quick trip to the local library.
The easiest way to avoid being scammed while enduring foreclose is to remember the golden rule marketing; if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. If someone offers "expert" advice and assistance, you should do a search for the information they provide on the internet. More than likely you will find the very same information that the "experts" have access to but without the price tag.

The $0 Pyramid Scheme - My close encounter with the scam vacuum.
Many people out there want to get rich quick. Sure, thats a good thought. The perfect fantasy. The only problem is that its ONLY a thought. Nothing else.
The get rich quick scheme is the pitch for so many of the scams that are out there. They sell you a pitch, get you sucked in, then take your money and leave. For some unfortunate victims, theyre left high and dry. Deep in debt because of the scam vacuum.
Now I want to share with you an experience of a scam that I almost got sucked into. It was with a company that I later found to be a pyramid scheme. I am not telling you the name of this company, for the name is not important. This company is just one of the many DS Max spin offs found all over the country. In other words, this name could be any of those fishy businesses out there.
To begin my story, I had an interview for this business down state. With that, I drove all the way to this business and got the interview. It was your basic interview, only they interviewed people in groups of two.
After the interview, they asked me to come back another day for something that they call a "day of observation" . I agreed on doing this. I went back home.
On the "day of observation", I came back to the business. I was curious on how this "day of observation" worked. I rode with two other people in the back, with two people in the front. They dumped us off at one part of town.
Our "mission" was to go from door to door and sell these coupon books. We went to houses and different businesses doing this, all day long.
During that time, I was supposed to memorize their rules and the chart that they used for promoting people. I did so and recited it to them.
That night, we were picked up and were drove back to the business. I was told by one of the people I was with that I was hired. This kind of made me happy. I drove home, totally satisfied.
The next day, I did some research on the business. I discovered the truth: they were a scam. All that built up hype for nothing. With that, I called them up and quit their team.
Dont get me wrong. There are real business opportunities out there on the internet. While there are scams like that out there, there are some legitimate businesses that wont waste your time and money. All you have to do is look carefully for them, like I did.
With my story, there is a happy ending. I was able to find a legitimate business. The name of this business is GeneWize. They are a life sciences business with a lot of potential for growth and a great training and mentorship program.
If you are serious about finding a real business opportunity on the internet, search carefully and beware of the scams. You WILL find what youre looking for if you look hard enough!

That phrase, in the acting industry, is worth more than a $20 million-dollar, big-budget film contract. If you havent experienced a scam yet, you soon will! There is almost no place like the entertainment industry for con and scam artists. Thats partly because people can scam you out of your money legally by taking advantage of your dreams and inexperience in the industry.
The scams come in all forms, all shapes and sizes, and from all directions. You can even go to a reputed photographer or agent and find he or she trying to lure you into an acting class, sell you something, or simply being dishonestall for the sake of making a buck. And for the scammers, there is almost no police involvement, little legal action one can take, and virtually no punishment.
There are many scams out there, but weve picked a few doozies to show you for the next few weeks. Heres one of our all-time favorites.
Scam #1 "Suckers Wanted"
You see an ad in the paper from what sounds like a reputable agency. In the ad, they rattle off about how they have launched the careers of so many famous people or have booked an unbelievable amount of jobs for their talent. Now, their ad claims, they are looking for new talent and new faces. And, what gets you even more excited: they claim you dont need any experience. All you have to do is go to their office for an interview and you will have a chance to be a big star.
Dead giveaways to look for:
First, reputable agencies dont have to put ads in the paper. They are so inundated with headshots from promising actors; there really is no need.
Second, when an "agency" claims to have launched the careers of famous people, it usually isnt true, at least not the way they are portraying it. They may only have had some brief affiliation with that celebrity, brief affiliation with that celebritys agency, or could just be making the whole thing up. Usually, when an "agency" tells you things like this, it is to get you to dream about stardomjust long enough for them to take your cash.
Third, most actors need at least some acting experience before going to an agency for representation. Although, there are some exceptions, it is very rare that an agency will work with people who have absolutely no experience, let alone invite inexperienced actors in for consultation. Real agencies need experienced actors who can perform well at auditions and get booked for parts. Once the actor is booked, only then can a legitimate agency get paid.

How to Detail Your Car

Now the carwash/detailing industry has become a multi-billion dollar industry. Although why would you want to spend you hard earned money on having some one else detail your car? When you could do it yourself, and make
sure it is completed correctly and the way you want. Besides I know a lot of car enthusiast out there who would really prefer to detail their cars themselves.
After years of experience and talking with some of the best product/technical representatives around today, I have compiled a how to guide for car owners that want to do there own work. This guide is intended for all car
enthusiasts on all levels. Maybe you are new to car detailing or you are just looking for some new "tricks" to give you the advantage at your next car show. Either way I hope that this guide helps you on your journey.
First off detailing is hard work and time consuming. No matter what your reason for wanting to detail your car from wanting to attend a car show to selling your vehicle detailing will be well worth your time and effort. Now there
are products out there that say that it will cut your time in half, and that you only need to do it once a year. However, several professional detailers I talked with said that many of the new cheaper products are indeed too good
to be true and can damage paint jobs. This is why I suggest staying away from low quality products and sticking with the known products. There is nothing that works as well as hard work and some elbow grease. I will make
some suggestions as I continue through the guide, but if you have a product you really like, go ahead and use it.
Before you get started you will need:
Paper towels, rags, and chamois. Old t-shirts work well, and if you can find any old "clean" cloth diaper use them because they make excellent rags for polishing the finish and are great for windows.
Brushes. You'll need a few different varieties and sizes to get into the hard to reach areas. An old toothbrush works well, and several cotton swabs.
Wash bucket. Make sure it is clean, and you may want to keep is as your car washing bucket only. This may help prevent getting unwanted dirt and chemicals in a bucket you use to clean your car with.
Wash mitts and or a good quality sponge.
Bug removal sponge
Power Washer or a good hose nozzle with different head types. Power Washers are getting pretty reasonably priced now and you can pick them up at any hardware store.
Shop Vacuum or equivalent.
Orbital Buffer. Again these are getting pretty reasonably priced.
Now where to begin? Most professionals I talk to suggest starting on the interior first, so the dust and dirt you brush out won't settle on a cleaned exterior. Remove any floor mats and give the carpeting and upholstery a good
vacuuming. Move the seats forward and backward to get all the dirt including in the tracks, and door jams. You should also use one of your harder bristled brushes to get any dirt out from the cracks; it is also good for stirring
up the carpet matt so you can get most of the junk out of the carpet.
Now if you have any stubborn stains in the upholstery or carpet this is the time to deal with them. Use an all purpose cleaner to get the stubborn stains out. Saturate the stain with cleaner, working it in with a damp sponge. Let
it sit awhile and then blot it out with a dry towel. Make sure to read the direction on the cleaner for specific precautions. You can also use a window cleaner sprayed on a rag to get the headliner clean. Don't forget the
trunk/hatchback areas as well.
